Xfce 4.14 is “Final”

Congratulations to the Xfce Development Team on the release of Xfce 4.14! There is a lot of nice new stuff in there as well as the promised migration to gtk3. Check out Xfce’s blog post here for more info. They’ve done a great job!

For those wondering, MX 19, based on Debian 10/buster and featuring the antiX live system, will also include Xfce 4.14 when we release later this autumn. A public beta will be available very soon.

Thanks for your continued support!

  1. I take with all these huge changes (Debian Buster and XFCE 4.14) we wouldn’t be able to dist-upgrade from MX18.3 and we would need to do fresh install?

  2. Hopefully y’all can get the Nvidia driver issue resolved by then. It’s the only thing keeping me from using MX right now

  3. Just days ago, I switched to MX (18.3), because the release model was “semi-rolling”. So, I guess this is as good a time as any to ask what that means. Will you roll out Debian Buster and xfce 4.14 to those of us with MX 18.3, or will we have to completely re-install our OS to stay current?

  4. New MX disto with default desktop as XFCE is great choice for constrained devices with low memory and lower processing power. However it would be great if option to install additional desktops like mate or deepin as suggged by Loackmann is coments above is available. Deepin would be great for PCs with adequate RAM and processing power.

  5. g’day d.o.,
    it’s not Autumn, it’s Spring.
Ohhh, you mean later in Sep/Oct/Nov, or later this year… hokay 😉
good onya Xfce! thanks MX! woohoo! 🙂
