Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

Thank you for pointing out that the clock is the XFCE datetime plugin. I assumed it was orage, because that's somehow what's on my mx-18.3 install. I'll use orage instead, so I easily remove the week numbers.

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

The orage preferences that I set (from the whisker menu) seem to have no influence at all at the layout of the calendar that I see when I click on the clock in the panel.
Any idea how to fix this? I would like to remove the week numbers.

XFCE notofication logging bug.

If I enable XFCE notification logging, the hyperlinks in the logged notifications don't work.
This is a known XFCE bug that was fixed. Is there any chance it will be fixed in MX-linux?

Re: Better notification plugin

The activate button in the bubbles works. This means that the bubbles are aware of the full URL.
But if I go to notifications in the whisker menu and then click on log, the full URL is not stored in the log.
Why the difference?

Re: Better notification plugin

It seems to have something to do with how the notifications are logged. In ~/.cache/xfce4/notifyd/log entries look like this: (they don't have the full url) [2019-06-06T14:17:38] app_name=google-chrome summary="Kris Willems but I guarantee that it was Erica that blubbed to dear old dad and got him t...

Re: Better notification plugin

I am talking about the notification plugin. As far as I can observe they serve a different function. - The notification area show my WIFI signal strength, my Skype status, my current keyboard language and so on. - The notification plugin manages the notification given by a number of applications, bu...

Better notification plugin

I am not happy with the XFCE notification plugin.
I think the layout is poor and the hyperlinks in the notification list don't seem to work.
Is there an alternative that works on XFCE?

Re: What was your first Linux distro?

It think it was about 22 years ago. I believe it was slackware. I was not impressed ....but returned to linux later on.
