Re: MX15/16 repos.

There's some artwork, new desktop defaults and slightly newer versions of a handful of packages like hplip & apt-notifier, bumblebee, epson-inkjet-printer-escpr & cryptsetup. It's safe enough. But there have been no updates to that repo in years so it's not important to have - I don't have it enable...

Re: Wechat - winetricks riched20 error

Occasionally MS changes the URLs where libraries can be found. If you installed winetricks from the repos, that version may need to be updated to get the new location of riched20. Directions to get the very latest winetricks here:

Re: Computer Freezing/Locking UP

There's a known issue with that motherboard & Linux having to do with the CPU c-states. Intel hasn't been helpful in troubleshooting it, but some users say this works. In the BIOS ("Advanced\CPU Configuration") set: - Intel SpeedStep Technology (ON) - CPU C States Support (OFF) - Enhanced Halt State...

Re: How to install OpenCPN

If you try

Code: Select all

aptitude install opencpn
you will get more information about why it's not working, and you will be presented with a potential fix, if it's not what you want, reply no and it will look for another.

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

Here are the ones I'm working on. You've already taken a couple. I've got the 64bit done for 18 of them so far. Couldn't find a deb package anywhere for xfce4-calculator-plugin (repology had rpms, Arch, gentoo ports & the like) so had to build that one semi from scratch. It's a handy little plugin. ...

Re: Packages being worked on by the Repo Team

New xfce4-weather-plugin 0.10.0, which adds back the sunrise/set times for the gtk3 version, if Tim doesn't already have it. Go ahead & take it. These plugins are tedious. The github doesn't have configure files built - you have to run ./autogen.sh (no --autoreconf doesn't work) and doing it in rul...

I noticed there's also a newer xfce4-notifyd than we currently have for MX 19 in upstream Debian. Did you want to do that while you're at it?
It's in the queue.

Working on the various xfce4-plugins that aren't part of the official release but which have had a new release in the last few weeks.

Re: error when adding the system76 ppa

Oh, turns out I was mistaken. It is browseable, you just had the entry wrong. If you're determined to do this, the closest match to MX-17/18 would be this entry (Bionic has a newer libc6). Still risky. If you break it you get to keep all the pieces. deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/system76-dev/stable/u...

Re: error when adding the system76 ppa

MX is based on Debian not Ubuntu . Installing packages from an Ubuntu PPA is likely to create dependency issues and a borked install. But that particular error is usually a misconfiguration at the PPA or your system's proxy settings. Since the System76 isn't browseable I have no idea what the specif...
