Re: Usb-sticks for live-usb use

For years I've been recommending the Samsung Flash Drive Fit . :liftweight: It is small and fast and has been reliable for me even with heavy use. I have four of them. The price of these devices has been rising, which is strange for electronics but may reflect supply and demand. This is still the d...

Re: Can't full install to USB stick

Again, I've had good luck with the Samsung Fit which are a similar form-factor.
The Mushkin Atom USB-3 sticks also work quite well, and also have a similar form factor.

Xfce has all I ever need. It's stable. The best thing about Xfce is that it just doesn't tick me off.
My feelings exactly. Especially that last part!

Re: Freedom is the key to success with any distro

Methinks what he REALLY wants is an "MX-base" distro, probably with KDE enabled instead of Xfce, and not much else, and an MX-PI subcategory of the individual tools and applications, so that one can cherry pick them after installation. Which seems like a lot more work for the unpaid MX Dev Team, for...

Re: Poll

DE: Xfce. Always. Really hate KDE, Gnome3, and LXDE/LXQT. Also like Openbox and Fluxbox, on more rudimentary distros, such as AntiX, Sparky minimalGUI, or Bunsenlabs. I usually set up the left side panel to always hide, change the background color to some shade of chartreuse or lavender, depending o...

Re: Firefox deserves the boot!

I much prefer Otter-browser to Vivaldi. As a second choice to Opera. Apparently I'm OK with Chinese ownership of Opera, as I've used it exclusively since 2009 when FF crashed my system. Mythical nebulous rumors of inserted Chinese spybots ain't enough to make me change, aside from the fact that I've...

Re: MX-18

Why not just repackage 17.1_November as "18" (or maybe even "19") for the "greater Linux community" and MX newbies, and continue to field 17.1 monthly updates for the rest of us?

Re: How to install Software Center?

I have found (if the shoe fits, wear it) that those who gloss over, or complain about, MX-PI have never bothered to seriously use it.
