I am there ;)

No mortgage, just renting.
Me too. Renting rocks! Except I don't know what to spend spare money on. I have enough "things" and can't fit more in my apartment anyway. Experiences are on the to-do list now, grand tour of Europe is planned for next year.

Re: "Progress"

You forgot the "Now git off ma lawn!'. ;) But I do agree. The overall corporatisation, globalisation, and just downright greed culture is disturbing. I was talking to a muso at work the other day who used to use a MacbookPro with Ableton in his shows but the newer models have just become so thin the...

Re: Mozilla Hardening And Enhancement Guide

Another useful guide. https://restoreprivacy.com/firefox-privacy/ I usually follow most of those suggestions and it's worth reading the comments for more tips (if you have a few hours to follow all the links). If I'm feeling lazy or time-limited, I'll just install uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, and ...

Re: Defining the jump from noob to Linux User

The difference, I think, is knowing where to look for help, when you have a problem, & can then fix it. Spot on. Noobs are people who post a question in a forum before doing an internet search. Users know they might find a solution in minutes by searching, whereas a forum may take hours or d...

Re: System wide sound leveling/normalizing for MX 18.3?

I believe that setting only normalises on a per file basis? That's normally how it works. The file is scanned to determine the level of it's highest peak and then the whole file is adjusted by the amount it needs to bring that peak to a certain level. Say the maximum peak in the file is -6dB and yo...

Normalizing PulseAudio: https://askubuntu.com/questions/95716/automatically-adjust-the-volume-based-on-content https://gist.github.com/lightrush/4fc5b36e01db8fae534b0ea6c16e347f Probably an easier way to watch sound normalized Youtube videos:...
