Re: antiX-19-b1-full and tsplash tests needed.

I just tested "splasht=f" on B1 32 bits on virtual box- the boot process looks way better for non techie users. Everything looks simpler. One of these options should be the standard for antiX 19... "splash=v" probably should be used only for debugging any problems. I know even when the system boots ...

Re: Anyone else think Gnome is useless?

I haven't really used Gnome in many, many years (I guess I used it when I tested ubuntu, in the long gone time it came in free cd-roms shipped to my home by canonical). But I believe it's a bit harsh to say it's "useless"- I tried via distrotest.net and it looks "cool", and also makes some sense to ...

Re: antiX-19-a2_x64.iso xdelta patch

Not sure if this is the right place to post about this but: Regarding wi-fi connection problems with connman: I've been using antiX19A2 via USB Live, but last week end did a frugal install with root and home persistence- every single time I turned my pc on, no wi-fi was detected. I realized that if ...

Re: Synaptic

hi. Maybe users should not drink "Jack Daniels" and post :-) If I had to guess I would say the user is asking why didn't MXinstaller automatically installed the new version? But people here should not have to guess what the question is... Tips for new users: please post a direct question, also suppl...

Re: JWM in antiX 19A2 looking great (without installing anything)

@ppc (Paulo) Here are some itty bitty window managers that might be fun to explore on antiX: https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/comments/4tfdzu/ram_usage_of_small_window_managers_a_comparison/ Here is another place to save RAM... have you tried these to see if any will help you in your causse? https...

Re: MX Package Installer feature(?) request

Is there a way to force the MX Package Installer to always show what will be installed AND ask for confirmation before proceeding ? If I see this correctly it installs right away if there are no further dependencies. That can be a nuisance if expected dependencies are not included. I can only talk ...

Re: JWM in antiX 19A2 looking great (without installing anything)

@Manyroads: Hi again, Mark/Manyroads, I also replied to you in the antiX forum - screenshots (no point repeating here)... Maybe this forum is the more appropriate place for me to talk about RAM consumption by the Desktops... And say that, in my particular case - one netbook with 1 Gig of shared RAM,...

JWM in antiX 19A2 looking great (without installing anything)

Hi everyone! It just came to me that after tweaking Fluxbox and JWM, I never put any of my screenshots here… So, here it is: JWM running after altering just 2 configuration files (I have a thread on antiX forum, on that, even a newbie can do it- but read all the way till the last post to understand ...

Re: Tweaking antiX Fluxbox to look more "modern"

Hi Manyroads! Your Fluxbox desktop looks great, much better than the version I ended up with... that's the "pro" side, the "con" side is that your version ended up being almost 100 Mb heavier on idle RAM :-( (and my version already was not the lightest possible). That was the reason I didn't use Tin...

Re: Lightweight Linux Distro?

Hi, all! The post might have not been serious, but it's a interesting question... MX runs light but, in my experience internet browsing or or any software that does intensive memory use, slows the system down to a crawl if running under 1 Gb or RAM. I would advise MX for single core pt's with more t...
