Re: Trying to set up a launcher

Thank you d_o, that works. And following your instructions in my post of a couple days ago on disabling the touchpad, I took the launchers out of the desktop and moved them into the menu.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Trying to set up a launcher

Is Disable_TouchPad in your path? If not then you need to specify the full path to the script.
The executable file is in the /home/chris directory. Should the path be: /home/chris/Disable_Touchpad

(Solved) Trying to set up a launcher

I am trying to set up a launcher to disable a laptop touchpad. I have created an executable script that will disable the touchpad when I click on the script using PCManFM. And am now trying to learn how to turn this executable script into a working launcher. I created a launcher but it will not exec...

Re: Disable touchpad when USB mose is plugged in

Solved - Use PCManFM - It will do what Dolphin does without all the supporting files that Dolphin will bring with it. By clicking on the executable file PCManFM asks if you want to execute it. I only tried a different file manager because of another post about problems with Thunar and using PCManFM....

Re: Disable touchpad when USB mose is plugged in

I created two bash scripts to disable the touchpad and enable the touchpad. They work when I run them in a terminal, but I cannot figure out how to run them any other way. I am thinking about trying to setup keyboard bindings to make it easier for the user who wants nothing to do with a terminal. Ho...

Re: Disable touchpad when USB mose is plugged in

I have tried all the function keys without success. But I did find these commands: synclient Touchpadoff=1 synclient Touchpadoff=0 They work, so I put them into separate executable files. I am used to just clicking on them using Dolphin to execute them. But clicking on them using Thunar just opens t...

Re: Disable touchpad when USB mose is plugged in

v3g4n - There was no 01-touchpad.rules in /etc/udev/rules.d. So I created the file with the rules and then rebooted. But it doesn't do anything, the touchpad is not disabled when the USB mouse is plugged in.

(Solved) Disable touchpad when USB mose is plugged in

Just installed MX15 on a Dell Inspiron 5755 and am trying to disable the touchpad when a USB mouse is plugged in. I went to Settings > Mouse and Touchpad and the mouse is listed but the touchpad is listed as UNKNOWN. I see that I can disable the touchpad all together or can disable it when typing. B...

Re: mx15 and uefi?

Thank you. It looks pretty straight forward. I am a bit apprehensive about doing it but I really need her to be using Linux so I can help her when she needs it and I sure cannot help if she is trying to use Win10.

mx15 and uefi?

My sister bought a new Dell Inspiron 17-5755 laptop and I want to put Mx on it. Does MX work with UEFI yet? I haven't had to deal with UEFI yet, but I'll probably get the laptop next week if I tell her I can handle it. Or will it be later on?
