Re: update and upgrade method

Better advice can be obtained if you will post the Quick System Info, from the menu after booting the LiveUSB on the Dell. Assuming you have a connection.

Re: update and upgrade method

Good advice from Figueroa.

Installation is not realized by

Code: Select all

sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade
but rather
use the installer option from the menu, or
from a terminal from a LiveUSB:

Code: Select all

sudo minstall

Re: Update today pulls back in samba-libs due to VLC

I deselect it at install but I'll have to check

Re: Skype

That's been my experience as well.
Skype works less encumbered on Android.

I have used both --receive on phone, type replies on computer if at hand. Depends on your work flow. Handy to be able to multitask.

Re: how to update the Libreoffice-pakets from 5xy to 6xy

A notice for the future, if you remove the old LibO before upgrading or installing a newer version, save a copy of the following: - - - - -> ~/.config/libreoffice/4/user Despite the "4", this contains all /user settings that you have currently applied, as well as backup files, dictionaries, etal. Be...
