Re: Desperately I try to download MX-19 Beta 2.1 from sourceforge

@Eadwine Rose Thank you for answering. No. This error occurs on ALL sites of sourceforge, not only when I try to download MX19beta. Is there an other source to download MX19beta. sourceforge does not work at all. Regards Karl I just downloaded the 64 bit version from Sourceforge in under two minute...

Re: MX Linux - Legacy Athlon XP 1800+

From my dim, distant memory that CPU doesn't support the sse2 instruction, so no mainstream browser will work with it.

Re: What's the meaning behind the codenames for MX and antiX?

Sort-of on the same subject: what is the meaning of antiX? Does it imply an opposition to X, and if so, what is X? And what does MX stand for? Just curious, not taking sides, especially since I don't even know what the sides are... antiX is developed by someone called anticapitalista, which is perh...

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

Installation of a driver using the Nvidia driver installer on a dual graphics laptop fails. It works successfully on the same machine under 18.3. During installation, accepting all defaults, the following message appears: Screenshot-1.png Proceeding with or without the checkbox selected makes no dif...

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

That's a known issue with the most recent version of the installer (19.9.05). You can check which version you have by running: minstall --version The previous build (19.9.03) does not have this problem and is the one included in MX 19b2.1 so, just this time, try it without updating the installer. T...

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

On a UEFI machine, updated from live, during install no disk is pre-selected for the user. The 'Use Disk' field is blank. Selecting 'Auto install using entire disk' with the 'Use Disk' field blank is permitted. The confirmation pop-up asks if disk(0) should be used. Clicking 'Yes' causes the install...

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

actually, I didn't realize hibernate wasn't supported. its still settable in Xfconf. just need to see what its not appearing in mx tweak. Originally Xfce 4.14 was meant to have a hybrid hibernation system, which on the face of it looked good, but I guess it didn't work. Chris Edit: I enabled both H...

Re: MX-19 Beta 2.1 Feedback

Trivial:

The Help file for MX Tweak>Other references the option to toggle Hibernate, which isn't supported in 19.

Re: Choosing MX-compatible hardware

Pretty much all mainstream computer hardware will be compatible. HP printers usually have good compatibility, but you should check first.
