Re: Wacom graphics tablet absent in MX Linux, present in other distros

The question is whether we should build xserver-xorg-input-wacom with the correct rules file for sysvinit. I don't have any input tablets to test with so I don't know if fixing for sysvinit breaks Wacom support if a user boots with systemd.

Re: Wacom graphics tablet absent in MX Linux, present in other distros

It's a udev issue. Debian ships a udev rules file for wacom that needs a line commented out if systemd isn't present. /lib/udev/rules.d/69-wacom.rules ACTION!="add|change", GOTO="wacom_end" # Match all serial wacom tablets with a serial ID starting with WACf # Notes: We assign NAME though we shouldn...

Re: What have been your best/worst computer deals?

Well, you can't beat free. During the real estate crash ~ ten years ago I was given a used Brother laser printer/fax machine from a closing title office. It's still in use as my default printer. Re: Why are the repos displayed in reverse order?

It's in an apache2 config file. Apparently when I set up the la server & enabled auto-indexing the default sort order in that file was Descending Name . That's the first time anyone's brought it up - probably because one click resorted it. I've just switched it to the more common (& the way all the ...

Re: Amateur Radio JS8Call - New Error in 18.3

Yes, a newer libc6 will be in MX-19
JS8Call builds debs against both Ubuntu 18.04 & 16.04. For MX-17/18 use the 16.04 deb version on their Downloads page.

Re: Amateur Radio JS8Call - New Error in 18.3

That's because they built the latest version against Debian buster or the equivalent Ubuntu version.
It's not recommended to upgrade libc6. Do you still have the prior JS8Call version available?
