18.3 Manual updated 06014

#1

Post by Jerry3904 » Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:08 pm

Anyone that has updated and upgraded in the last few days now has the most recent, and final, MX-18 Users Manual. I fixed a number of problems, corrected various errors, and introduced some new material. Section 4.3 now includes alternatives to LibreOffice that Forum users have discussed.

This thread will serve for comments, corrections and suggestions that will be evaluated for...MX-19!

Jerry,
Regarding section 4:3, I suggest switching positions of Freeoffice and Softmaker Office as Freeoffice is free with nearly all the same features of Softmaker Office. Plus anyone who has Freeoffice will eventually get an option to upgrade via email to Softmaker Office if they wish, often at a discounted price.
Actually, I'd put all of the other downloadable software options ahead of the cloud options just to have the native app options together.

Hi!
Maybe, in the new 4.3 section, about Office applications, also mention WPS (the only other office suite directly available in MX, via flatpak) and, eventually also abiword worprocessor?

Just curious, is Abiword still getting support/upgrades? I thought awhile back it was no longer under development. I remember using it years ago and it was a good lightweight word processor.
