What changes are needed in MX_18.2 & Wine - To get "Garmin Express" working?

I would like to be able to run the updates software (Garmin Express) in Linux and do updates. There is a guide, but I'm not sure it will work in MX-18.2. What do you think?

YT - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg01Z6VCox0

I normally run updates for garmin gps via old Lenovo laptop and win7, but that isn't working at the present time. Windows Update broke Win7 and can't repair it. It is a dual boot - MX 17 & Windows 7 64 Home Pre. I've tried the repair videos via YT, but nothing has worked. It tries to install updates, fails and reverts (twice) and then stops. This will happen as soon as the machine is powered on.

Is it normal that "MX Package Installer" doesn't show up in the menu search? Like when you type say - "Package"

I only get to the "c" and it is at the top of the list. It shows in the left panel of Whisker Menu by default--did you move or delete it?

Type: pack ... I see: GDebi, Cli App based package installer, Synaptic Package Manager, xfpack ..

I don't remember removing it. If I run MX Tools and look under: software - there it is .. Package Installer.
It runs and works fine.

We have wine-staging 4.8 and shortly 4.9 in mx-testrepo. The method described in the link looks fairly promising.
I don't have a Garmin Express, but as he has not mentioned any issues I guess, it might work. One critical issue often with such devices are handling/detection through USB from with the win-application. I have tried with tomtom some times ago without success, as the device was not recognized through usb.

Thanks fehlix ..

I'm going to update to 4.9 via mx-testrepo. I seen a comment about a missing file due to a 404 via Archive_org. Yes, the usb thing might be a problem when it comes to recognizing the GPS. I guess I won't know until I try.
