Resolution reverting from 1360x768

Post by grahamp45 » Mon Apr 21, 2014 12:49 am

I have set my video resolution to 1360x768 under "Display & Monitor Settings" to suit my new monitor which has a 16:9 aspect ratio. All is fine until I reboot Mepis (11), when it reverts to 1024x768. Can anyone tell me what I must do to retain the new value?

Are you root when you do this?
Click on the Run Command (it's the first or second choice when you click the Menu
Enter: kdesu systemsettings
Hit the Enter key. This opens all of System Settings with root privileges.
Make your settings and close System Settings.
You will have to restart the xserver or reboot for the changes to take effect.

If you are running a proprietary Nvidia or AMD video driver you have to use their software to set resolution.
Yes, even I am dishonest. Not in many ways, but in some. Forty-one, I think it is.
