Woeusb for Windows 10 bootable USB [solved]

#1

Post by azeem » Thu Jun 13, 2019 9:09 am

Hey,
i am trying to make a bootable Windows 10 usb stick. I have good experience with woeusb but i can't install it.

Can someone tell me the best way to install it (latest stable version)? Please don't tell me other ways to make a bootable device, i just want to use woeusb. And if it's possible, without adding a repo. By the way, i already tried to add a repo "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8" but without success.

Check your avatar, what does it say? ;)

You need MX Package Installer (in MX Tools), and you can find it in the MX Test repo tab. Check that, click install, and it will install for you.

Thx for the quick answer.

I am using antiX it has a different Package Installer than MX. There are no tabs and no search results for woeusb.

Owh oh yeah.. didn't look which forum you posted in.. my bad.

I'm pretty sure in its package installer you can find it under the test section.

Google "debian woeusb install" to begin with. That gets you to this page:
https://pkgs.org/download/woeusb
The 64bit one listed under Ubuntu 16.04 installs without error on the Debian Stable base of MX using this command in a terminal that you open to where you downloaded the deb:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i woeusb_3.3.0-1_webupd8_xenial0_amd64.deb
Production: 4.15.0-1-amd64, MX-17.1, AMD FX-4130 Quad-Core, GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2, 8 GB, SSD 120 GB, Data 1TB
Testing: AAO 722: 4.15.0-1-386. MX-17.1, AMD C-60 APU, 4 GB
Personal: XPS 13, 4.18.0-19.3-liquorix, 4 GB

Thx Jerry, it works!

I had the same idea but i downloaded the version 19.04 (Ubuntu).

Now, i checked every available version for ubuntu (19.04/18.10/18.04/16.04) and you were absolutely right: woeusb_3.3.0-1~webupd8~xenial0_amd64.deb (16.04) is the latest working version for antiX.

Thanks everybody, problem is solved.
