Thought I remembered a control for setting up Microphone in AntiX 16/17, but can't seem to locate in 19-b2...

if you are using a USB mic, then it will show up as a second card. you'll need to select that mic in whatever application you are using to grab the audio.

lenovo ThinkPad T530 - MX-18.3
lenovo s21e - antiX-19 beta 2 (live-USB)
FYI: mx "test" repo is not the same thing as debian testing repo.

Have been using Google Hangouts, for weekly family Video Chat, Mic Icon flickers on and off in that Google Application. But trouble there is no sound from other end coming from speakers.

See inxi -F above. It is the third card listed

But maybe that was when I had no sound from any application. Will try again tonight for video chat.

If videocam still does not work then will jump to Dell Inspiron 14-3452 v: 4.0.7 with yesteryear horrid web cam resolution. I returned the HP AMD A4 Chromebook for overheating reasons - No vents in case, doing a hangout video chat for about 20/30 minutes before I could cook an egg on case and lost video/audio or both. Cam image was quite good until system overheated.

I could not find a A6 chromebook, guessing I will wait for a Ryzen 5 3400U laptop to remove MS windows and install AntiX if I can not find a webcam to use with the desktop.

I do not want to be the first to experiment with new laptops...

Update... antiX 19-b2 runs the Logitech C920 correctly in Hangout Video Chat, to Japan and Portland, OR simultaneously. Presume it will also work with family in the UK (day time video chat).

Seems with sound fixed, life with the USB webcam on the desktop system is now working. I shan't need to purchase a Laptop soon for this twice a week Video Chat function.

My Uptime: 2d 8h 57m, When I reboot I need to use Firefox, or XMMS to play sounds, then Google Chrome youtube sound works. Leaving system up for days or months like before will keeps sound working properly.

I have not updated the kernel, still a bit gun shy as it stopped me booting into a graphical version of antiX 19-b1 afterwards with the newer kernels installed. But guess I should buck up and test b2, and try different kernels for the development of this antiX version.

But tonight I was excited to have new video cam start working for Video Chats...
