Synaptic can't hit mirrorcatalogs.com for update

Greetings,

Been a long time. I had problems updating so i searched the forums and found a new sources.list. Put that in. Got a lot of updates (168). Had to step through them one-by-one, not doing the ones that wanted to remove something I wasn't sure of. Fair enough. Main problem: Synaptic won't hit the "mirrorcatalogs.com" entry. Maybe I don't have the latest sources.list entries. Could someone point me to the latest one? I'll try it and see if that works.

Thanks

The mirrorcatalogs entry is for Warren's MEPIS repository which has finally been taken down.
If you are running MEPIS 12 or MEPIS 11, we grabbed an archive of his repository just before the last mirror went down. Replace the mirrorcatalogs line with

Code: Select all

deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mepis mepis-12.0 main
or

Code: Select all

deb http://nl.mxrepo.com/mepis mepis-11.0 main
depending on which version you are running.

Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

The "n1" should be "nl" ("l" is a lowercase L)

Failed to fetch ftp://ftp.mepis.com/mepis/dists/mepis-11.0/Release.gpg
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Disable or remove that repo entry. The ftp.mepis.com repos are down, probably permanently. The nl.mxrepo.com repos Tim posted replace them.

Btw you should probably consider migrating from Mepis 11 to either MX-15 or MX-14/M12, because the longterm support of Debian Squeeze (which Mepis 11.0 is based on) ends on the 6th of February.

That fixed it.

I'll look into a replacement for 11.

Thanks folks.
