This virtual machine, is it in VirtualBox or a different VM program?

First post he says "I am running in a Virtual Machine under Parallel Desktop on an iMAC with 5k display". Parallels Desktop is virtualization software. I doubt there are many here who use that setup.

I missed that. I just saw "virtual machine" and didn't read carefully.

So, per Head_on_a_Stick's post it looks as though Parallels Tools is the equivalent of VirtualBox's Guest Additions, and installing that in the MX Linux guest operating system might fix the problem.
