Nice Job .. v3g4n. I don't use KDE, so it is nice to be
able to see examples of it in use.

A contrast to the calm lake. Continuing the sinking of container ship MV Rena. The chopper is perched on the grounded bow section, stuck hard on the reef. The after part took a few hours to sink, floating timber was loose cargo from the holds. Credit : Maritime NZ.

Latest incarnation of desktop. The mx-clocky recently packaged by Stevo fits in perfectly with this wallpaper.

This is the Ambiance Flat gtk theme I started using when I discovered greybird-thick theme was a bit buggy and rendered gnome-sudoku horribly. I found I liked the bits of colour choice for the close button and mouseover highlighting. After greybird was sorted out by our amazing developer team, I went back to it for a while but found myself reverting to Ambiance soon after.

Conky is modified from one found in a Linuxbbq spin.

I noticed that all my weather-based conkys stopped displaying weather info. Most of them were from the big collection made available for/with conky manager 1 and 2. Apparently Yahoo is now making it really difficult to access their Weather APIs, and most of those conkys were getting the weather info from Yahoo. From what I read, people tried workarounds to get the Yahoo info, but each time, Yahoo closed off that avenue quickly.

So it looks like conky designers are now using the APIs on openweathermap.org . However, users will need to sign up for a free account with openweathermap so you can generate your own API key. This has to be added to the conky script provided by the designer.

This designer/scripting guy, zagortenay333, makes really beautiful weather conkys using info from openweathermap. The one in my screenshot is conky-vision: http://zagortenay333.deviantart.com/art ... -395777503 . His "Harmattan Collection" of conkys is even more awesome. His conkys are all written in the new syntax applicable for the newest versions of conky (although new conky is backward compatible with most older conky scripts). MX15 is running on new conky, but I think MX14 is on the older version of conky and will need old-syntax scripts.

I'm in the midst of updating my favourite modded Google-Now weather conky by going through this guy's conky scripts to see how he does things. It's got to be in the new syntax, and the information from openweathermap is now is json instead of xml format. I am noticing that the script commands seem cleaner and shorter for json.

Anyway, in the screenshot below, wallpaper was taken from the iso for bunsenlabs RC1 . It's a nice successor to Crunchbang but with MX15 working so well, bunsenlabs didn't make it onto my PC.

This is my desktop. The default Xfce kind of setting with a top panel and bottom panel, didn't go for a dock, Libra WM and GTK theme, icon theme is Compass.
Cantarell Font.
