Moving Window on Desktop Bug or Wrong Setting?

#1

Post by screeneye » Tue Jun 04, 2019 9:29 am

Hello MX Community,

when i'm moving a window over the edge of the desktop, my whole system is slowing down because of that. I made a short video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHKfx30AW94

It is the same with program windows, browser windows,...

Is there a setting i have to change? What causes the problem? Is it maybe the implementation of some gnome apps?

I thank everybody for help. Best Regards.

I found out, Compton is causing it, so i deactivated Compton. Maybe it is a hardware issue of my system. Just in Case, that everybody knows.

Greets!

Possibly it's a weakness of the nouveau driver with the default Compton settings, but those seem to be really complicated. Maybe it would work better with the proprietary Nvidia driver, if you're not adverse to closed-source.

Yeah. Could be. I once tried Nvidia Driver, but then i had black screen. I think my hardware is too old, so i use mx without compton. I can deal with it. Thanks for your reply.
