Mighty mouse, cannot drag & drop

#1

Post by zimbodel » Sun Sep 08, 2019 8:27 am

In the Mouse setup on MX18 I selected the Apple USB Magic mouse option that was recognized and the mouse works well.
Except that I cannot e.g. drag a link from a browser to the desktop as an example.
It seems drag is not implimented for Mighty Mouse.

Anyone has an idea how to configure this. ?
Everything else seems to be working fine.

I find no application that does bindings for mice in xfce/MX.

I actually have no idea what an Apple anything might or might not do... HOWEVER you really should 'consider' posting your configuration settings per site requirements when asking for help. Those will help get you some assistance.

Ok just cancel my question and dont attempt to help me.
Thank you for your opinion.
I am not interested in teachy and pedantic types.
I am just asking for help and a question must start somewhere.
Asking for help doesnt mean you have the right to exercise your abusive nature.
This is where it starts and if it doesnt comply to your way how it should start, then just move on and dont post.
If you have nothing to say, which clearly is the case, then please dont say it.

I am not interested in teachy and pedantic types.
There is nothing "teachy and pedantic" in asking someone who needs help to provide some basic info and possibly save a lots of time for both sides.

If someone admits not even knowing what an apple mouse is, then why should they give advice. ... unless they need to be teachy and throw random demands around.

If someone has nothing to say, then dont say it.

Please run Quick System Info then just right-click/paste in a reply. No need to copy/paste, Quick System Info already copies it for you and pre-formats it for posting in the forum. Thanks.

Posting the output of inxi -F is requested when new users seek help or specific hardware/software issues arise. It allows the many generous and supportive MX users and developers to assist those with questions and troubleshoot on behalf of those asking for assistance.

My system specs are posted freely below. I see nothing that might compromise my system by assisting a third party to access my old machine. Please let us know is there is evidence to the contrary that causes you to be reluctant. Please bear in mind that any help, however willingly offered by the community, will necessarily be limited. Welcome to MX.
Kindly Mick
