MX17.1 | Linux Mint vs. MX Linux: What's Best for You?
A comparison of these two Linux OS's posted by Matt Hartley on April 4, 2018 on Datamation.com that focuses on personal preferences instead of trying to say one is better than the other. Both have advantages, but the author concludes: "if I was to introduce one of these distros to someone who has never used Linux before, I once again think I'd choose MX Linux."

A video tour by XPSTECH published March 27, 2018. Although the author says he did not expect very much when he began, he concludes after checking it out that the MX Team has done a really great job. It could become one of the top distros, he says, but it all gets down to how long they can survive.

In an article published in OCS-Mag on March 21, 2018, Dedoimedo looks at desktop innovations that have taken place apart from the usual big distros. He includes MX Linux, and points particularly to MX Tools, concluding: "To the best of my experience and memory, this is the most advanced implementation of the make-desktop-nice functionality."

A very appreciative look at MX-17[.1] by Mike Johnston in CMS Critic on March 18, 2018.  He focuses on MX Tools, and features Tweak, Conky and Package Installer, of which he is a "huge fan." Concludes: "Overall, MX Linux 17 is a fast, responsive and well put together distribution. It includes tons of tools to help users and administrators get things done and it's built on a rock solid base with Debian stable."

MX17.1 | MX Linux: Worth a Look

A technically-oriented review posted by Robert Dinse in Eskimo North on March 18, 2018. Looks at the use of SysV as init in comparison with systemd, likes the monthly snapshots, and appreciates the availability of multiple desktops.  He concludees: "They’ve basically taken Debian and fixed all it’s flaws, it’s slow boot, it’s lack of up to date things that are critical, and fixed the boot process to one that is ideal compromise between systemd and system-V init."

This blog post accompanies his video on post installation setup for French users. He summarizes the release as "un grand cru" (a great vintage) and "du pur bonheur" (pure joy). He rightfully points to the difficulties now presented by Firefox to switch languages.
