We are pleased to offer MX-19.3 RC 1 for testing purposes.

As usual, this iso includes the latest updates from debian 10.6 (buster), antiX and MX repos.

This will be a short test cycle. This release rolls up debian 10.6 updates, MX updates, and antiX live system updates. Due to changes in kernel, live system, and installer, we decided to do a quick public test phase before releasing the full 19.3 release. Mostly we are looking for regressions from MX 19.2 release. This release also rolls up some MX-Fluxbox changes since MX-19.2 was released.

All official MX 19.X isos are being updated (64 bit and 32 bit standard, 64 bit ahs, 64 bit KDE).

The standard release isos feature the 4.19.152 kernel, including the latest “bleeding tooth” patches.

The “ahs” based releases (“ahs” and KDE) feature 5.8.14 kernels, also patched against “bleeding tooth”, as well as updated MESA (20.1.8) and Xorg graphics drivers.

–New and updated mx-apps

mx-installer (based on gazelle-installer) fix pertaining to autoinstall and ESP flag setting on UEFI setups.

mx-snapshot – misc. enhancements, including a reset network connections function in the gui.

mx-packageinstaller – updated kernel entries

Most apps received translation updates.

-antiX live system changes

The latest antiX live system updates, included updated video configurations via vcard boot code.

-Improved localization

– The live system will no longer set shift+tab as a keyboard switcher (allowing alt+shift+tab to work in the task switchers)

The RC will receive updates over time through the repositories. The RC WILL update to Final via the normal update process.

  2. hi, thanks for update & for MX 😉
but yeah, kernel.org: “If the kernel version you are using is marked EOL, you should consider upgrading to the next major version [stable or longterm] as there will be no more bugfixes provided for the kernel version you are using.”
…so longterm-4.19.x will be fine for now, & won’t need to go to e.g. longterm-5.4.x for a while yet,
but use of stable-5.8.x is marked EOL, so really should be moved to stable-5.9.x…
    just my 2c ;P
