This page collects the various procedures required or convenient when creating a new release.
For some purposes, it may be desirable to lock down an application or system in order to protect it from users. Examples include computers in a school or public location for general use, where the file system, desktop and internet access need to be closed. Full OS such as Porteus exist, but this page is limited to the use of MX Linux in kiosk mode.
It was pointed out over at antiX forums that the installer is not able to install on a partition if you boot from another partition on the same drive (ie frugally).
eg Frugal/fromiso boot from sda2 hoping to install on sda1 will fail.

Sources of software packages are listed in files contained in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/. Note that users may see minor changes due to localization (e.g., http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ instead of http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian/) or choice of mirror.
